JCI Senate Philippines partners with Palawan Express to recognize household workers

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Philippines, Inc, in partnership with Palawan Express Pera Padala, launched the nationwide search for outstanding household workers or “kasambahay” through Kasambahay Kasambuhay Pilipinas Awards on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Club Filipino in San Juan City.

The non-government organization aims to recognize and give importance to the dignity and role of a household service worker and promote awareness of their rights and privileges under the Domestic Workers Act.

Palawan Pawnshop President Bobby L. Castro explained the mechanics of the special award during the event. He is joined by officers of JCI Senate Philippines and Palawan Pawnshop board of directors.

All Filipino maids, gardeners, child care helpers, cooks, drivers among others, who have been with their present employers for 10 years or more are qualified to join. They should be nominated by their employers, with no criminal record and willing to travel to Puerto Princesa City for the awarding.

Each of the five winners will receive a trophy, vacation trip for two to Palawan and P50,000 in cash sponsored by Palawan Express.
