PALAWAN PAWNSHOP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO APPLY?

  1. Incoming first year college students, male or female, who are between 16-20 years old upon entering First Year College.
  2. Must be a resident of Palawan.
  3. Priority will be given to applicants from indigent families or below average income earning family and whose Grade-12 General Weighted Average is not below 85%.
  4. Applicants must be enrolled in either Palawan State University-Main Campus or Western Philippines University- Main & PPC Campus.
  5. The applicant should pass the personal interview to be conducted by the Scholarship Program Management.
  6. The applicant should possess good moral character, must be in good health, and have no any derogatory record or involvement in any criminal offense.
  7. Direct dependents and/or relatives (up to 3rd degree of consanguinity) of Palawan Pawnshop Associates are disqualified to apply.
  8. Must not be a recipient of any scholarship, financial aids, grants from any government and non-government agency, foundation, and the like except for academic scholarship granted by school for honor students.


HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM?

INTERESTED APPLICANTS SHOULD:

  • Print and Fill-out the Scholarship Program Application Form
  • Furnish a clear copy of the following documents:
    • Fully accomplished Application Form together with one (1) recent 2x2 ID picture
    • Senior High School Report Card (Grade-12) (photo copy)
    • Certificate of Good Moral Character (photo copy)
    • Certificate of Registration (COR) for First Semester (photo copy)
    • PSA Birth Certificate (photo copy)
    • Barangay Certificate of Residency or Barangay Certificate of Indigency 
    • Photo of your house (at least 3 pictures)
  • Compile all the required documents in a long white folder, following the sequence of the requirements mentioned above. Incomplete submissions will be automatically disregarded.
  • All documents must be submitted at the designated drop box at Palawan Pawnshop New Head Office located at Lot 59-A Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa City.
  • The deadline for all applications is August 25, 2023.

Applicants who pass the initial screening process will receive a text notification and instructions for the next part of the selection process from the Scholarship Program Management.

WHAT DOES THE COMPANY EXPECT FROM ITS SCHOLARS?

  • The PPS Scholar is expected to finish his/her course within the prescribed period requiredfor its completion.
  • The PPS Scholar must maintain passing grades in all academic and non-academic subjects, including ROTC and PE.
  • He/she will sign a contract of agreement to be duly notarized by a notary public.
  • In the event that the PPS Scholar fails to complete his/her course without any reasonable explanation and/or direct communication, he/she will be required to refund all financial benefits that have been accorded to him/her.
