What Is An E-Card / UMID?
UMID stands for Unified Multi-Purpose Identification and is commonly referred to as the UMID card. The UMID is a four-in-one ID card that Filipinos may use to deal with government agencies such as the SSS, GSIS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG Fund.
Who May Apply For A UMID?
The following are eligible for an UMID card:
- An SSS member with atleast one (1) posted contribution.
- All active members of GSIS. They can apply from any GSIS office;
- All members of Philhealth and indigent Filipinos can also acquire UMID from the Philhealth if SSS or GSIS does not cover them.

- For SSS members:
- An accomplished UMID Card Application Form;
- An original or certified true copy of the following valid IDs: Passport, Driver’s License, Professional Commission (PRC) card, or Seaman’s Book;
- For GSIS members:
- Fully accomplished GSIS UMID-eCard Enrollment Form;
- Two (2) valid government-issued IDs like passport, voter’s ID, PRC card, diver’s license, etc.

What is a PRC ID?
A PRC ID, also known as a Professional Identification Card (PIC), verifies that you are a registered professional in the Philippines. It also demonstrates that you have the legal right to practice your profession. How to get a PRC ID in the Phillippines?

What is an SSS ID?

Valid ID # 8. COMELEC / VOTER’S ID / COMELEC REGISTRATION FORM
What is a Voter’s ID?
A Voters ID Card is a government-issued identity card issued by the Commission on Elections, often known as COMELEC in the Philippines. During national and municipal elections for government officials, the card acts as a rapid identification of registered and qualified voters in the country. Although this is not a necessity for voting. Because the Voters ID Card is recognized as a valid ID in the Philippines, it may be used for more than only elections. This acts as identification evidence in bank transactions and for any legal purposes that the cardholder may require.
How to get a voter’s ID?
- Go to your Local Comelec Office and bring a Valid ID with a photograph and signature.
- The Office of the Election Officer will verify your identity, residence, and eligibility to register.
- Fill up 3 copies of application forms with a thumb mark and signature.
- Proceed to the biometrics area for digital captures of your photo, fingerprints, and signature using the Voter Registration Machine (VRM) by an authorized VRM Operator.
- Get your Acknowledgment Receipt and visit the office again after several months to get your Voters ID.
Valid ID # 9. PHILIPPINE IDENTIFICATION (PHILID)
- What is a Philippine Identification ID: The PhilSys National ID is a nontransferable identification card that acts as official evidence of identity for those who have registered with the PhilSys. While the national ID is an official government-issued ID in the Philippines, the Phil ID is not intended to replace other legitimate IDs used for purposes other than identity verification. Passports (for travel), UMID (for SSS/GSIS transactions), PRC ID (for practicing a profession), and driver's license are examples of government IDs (for driving).
- Qualifications for a Philippine Identification ID:
- Filipino citizens, including those with dual or multiple citizenships;
- OFWs and other citizens living abroad;
- Foreign nationals living in the Philippines for over six months.
- Registration for all ages: Registration is available to people of all ages, including newborns. Only demographic information and a front-facing image will be gathered from children under the age of five. Their PhilSys Number (discussed further down) will be connected to their parent or legal guardian.
Valid ID # 10. NBI CLEARANCE
- What is an NBI Clearance: An NBI Clearance is a document given by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) that proves you have not committed any criminal offenses or infractions in the Philippines. This clearance can be used for a variety of purposes, including Local employment, Foreign Trips, or Proof of Identity.
- Requirements for an NBI Clearance:
- NBI Clearance only requires two (2) government-issued IDs when applying for an NBI Clearance. (Passport, PRC card, UMID, PSA-issued birth certificate, Voter’s ID, PhilHealth ID)
Valid ID # 11. INTEGRATED BAR OF THE PHILIPPINES (IBP) ID
- What is an Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) ID? – IBP ID is an ID issued exclusively for passers of the Philippine Bar Examination administered by the Supreme Court.
- Requirements for an IBP ID:
- Roll number from the Roll of Attorneys of the Supreme Court;
- Two valid government IDs;
- IBP lifetime membership fee receipt.
- Validity – The IBP ID is valid for two (2) years, after that, renewal is required.
Valid ID # 11. INTEGRATED BAR OF THE PHILIPPINES (IBP) ID`
- What is an AFPSLAI ID – Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association, Inc., ID is an ID issued to all regular and retired members and/or honorably discharged/separated members of, among others, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) for the purpose of salary, pension, or Multi-purpose loan.
- Qualifications: Except for corporate members who are the registered proprietors (or one of the partners, as the case may be) of the business for which the loan profits are to be used, all Regular and Associate Members in good credit standing are eligible.
Valid ID # 13. PVAO ID
- What is a PVAO ID? – The Philippine Veteran’s Affair Office ID is an ID issued to Filipino war veterans. The purpose of PVAO includes the administration of veterans’ pensions and benefits, memorialization of veterans’ heroic deeds, and promotion of policies and management of services for veterans’ affairs and welfare.
- How to get a PVAO Pensioner’s ID? In order for you to acquire a PVAO pensioner’s ID, you must go to the VRMD Front-line services and present the following requirements:
- Duly filled-up Application Form;
- 2″x 2″ ID picture;
- 2 valid IDs for Biometrics.
- If you will be presented by another person, the following requirements must be met:
- Duly filled-up Application Form;
- Photo of the pensioner holding the latest newspaper showing the front page;
- 2 valid IDs;
- Barangay Certificate.
Valid ID # 14. AFP Beneficiary ID
- What is an AFP Beneficiary ID? – AFP Beneficiary ID is an ID issued to the dependent of a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines for the purpose of cash assistance, clear salary progression, and pension.
- Requirements for AFP Beneficiary ID:
- For Spouse - an authenticated copy of Certificate of Non-Marriage issued by NSO
- For Children - an authenticated copy of the Birth Certificate issued by NSO
- For Parents - an authenticated copy of the Marriage Contract of parents and Birth Certificate of military personnel (for married military personnel, the age of parents should be 60 years old and above to be qualified).
- ORDERS: CAD/ETAD, Enlistment/Re-enlistment, Promotion, Assignment, Change of Branch of Service, Change of Marital Status, Amendment Orders, whichever is applicable.
- Surrender old AFP ID. If lost, attach the Affidavit of Loss and Police Blotter.
- Present any other valid ID.
Valid ID # 15. BIR (TIN)
- What is a BIR (TIN)? – The Taxpayer Identifying Number Identification Card, commonly known as a TIN card or TIN ID card, carries a one-of-a-kind identification number assigned to each registered taxpayer in the Philippines. It is primarily used for tax purposes, but it is also recognized as a genuine ID by some government organizations and financial institutions.
- Basic TIN ID requirements – Before we go into how to receive a TIN ID, you should get the following TIN ID criteria ready, especially if this is your first time registering as a taxpayer.
- It is rather important to note that TIN ID is not allowed for MBTC and Western Union International remittances.
Valid ID # 16. PAG-IBIG ID
- What is a Pag-IBIG ID/Loyalty Card? – Pag-IBIG started its loyalty program in 2014 to enhance the value of working Filipinos' Pag-IBIG membership. The government agency collaborated with several businesses to provide exceptional discounts and incentives to Pag-IBIG members countrywide.
- Pag-IBIG ID/Loyalty Card Requirements:
- Two valid IDs are required: One valid ID and a photocopy for use during the application procedure, and the second valid ID is to be left with the guard upon admission. Take notice that Philhealth ID and TIN cards are no longer accepted as legitimate IDs by Pag-IBIG.
- Permanent Membership ID (MID) number; and
- Must be an active Pag-IBIG member.
Valid ID # 17. PERSON WITH DISABILITY (PWD) ID
- What is a PWD ID? – The PWD ID is the Philippines' official identity card for people with disabilities (PWDs). It can be used to get PWD discounts and other government-mandated advantages.
- PWD Qualifications – Any Filipino with a permanent disability can apply for a PWD ID. Persons with disabilities are people who have "long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments" that interfere with their interactions in society, according to Republic Act 10754.
- Requirements for a PWD Card:
- Completed PWD ID application forms;
- Two 1×1 ID photos with name and signature at the back (Some city/municipal halls require two 2×2 ID pictures.);
- Barangay clearance, voter’s ID, or any valid government-issued ID;
- Latest medical certificate or clinical abstract that confirms disability condition from a licensed private or government clinic, or hospital-based medical professional
Valid ID # 18. SOLO PARENT ID
- What is a Solo Parent ID? – A Solo Parent ID is a government-issued ID for solo or single parents in the Philippines. Solo parents who carry this ID can enjoy certain government discounts and benefits. They’re aimed to provide different kinds of support and to ease financial difficulties faced by a parent who’s working alone for the children. These privileges and the Solo Parent ID are valid for one year. The Solo Parent ID can be renewed every year.
- Qualifications for a SOLO parent ID – Any single parent in the Philippines can apply for a Solo Parent ID. Republic Act No. 8972 or the Solo Parents’ Welfare Act of 2000 considers the following individuals as single parents.
- Requirements for a SOLO Parent ID:
- Barangay Certificate;
- Proof of Financial Capacity;
- Supporting Documents and Certificates, such as Income Tax Returns or any document that will establish the income level of the solo parent;
- Birth Certificate(s) of your child or children;
- Filled out solo parent ID Application form.
Valid ID # 19. PANTAWID PAMILYA PILIPINO PROGRAM (4PS) ID
- What is a 4ps ID? – A 4P ID is one given to people to allow them to acquire the benefits of the 4Ps program. The core purpose of the program is to alleviate the lives of the poorest citizens of the country. One of its aims is also to give cash grants to the poorest people in the Philippines and help improve the nutrition, health, and education of their children.
- Qualifications for a 4Ps ID:
- Must be a resident in one of the poorest municipalities based on the National Statistical Coordination;
- Household economic status must not be above the provincial poverty level;
- Those that have 0-18 years old children and/or with a pregnant member of the family when the assessment was made;
- Requirements for the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program:
- Copies of Birth Certificates for all family members;
- Copies of School IDs or first grading report cards of all children who attended school;
- Barangay Certificate;
- 2 “1x1” picture with white background;
- Copy of health records of 0-5 years old from the health center where they have their check-ups;
- Valid IDs of the family member attending the community assembly.
Valid ID # 20. BARANGAY ID
- What is a Barangay ID? – A barangay ID is an ID that certifies that you are living in a certain barangay, are of good moral character, and are without any bad record within the community.
- Requirements for a Barangay ID: You must have your Community Tax Certificate or Cedula with you before going to the barangay hall, which you may obtain at the municipal hall and your barrio. However, in some barangays, a cedula is not required.
Valid ID # 21. PHILIPPINE POSTAL ID
- What is a Postal ID? – The Philippine Postal Corporation's newest official identity card is the Improved Postal ID (PHLPost). It is believed to handle today's issues of identity fraud and document fabrication because it is equipped with capabilities not typical of an ID card.
- Requirements for a Postal ID –
- Two (2) copies of the duly-accomplished PID application form;
- PROOF OF IDENTITY - Submit any one (1) of the following:
- Birth Certificate Issued by NSO or Local Civil Registry;
- GSIS or SSS UMID Card;
- Valid Driver’s License;
- Valid Passport.
Valid ID # 22. PHILHEALTH ID
- What is a PhilHealth ID? – The PhilHealth Identification Number (also known as the PIN or the PhilHealth ID number) is a one-of-a-kind and permanent number given to anybody who signs up for a PhilHealth membership. This is used for identification, determining a member's eligibility for PhilHealth benefits, and documenting the member's usage of benefits.
- Requirements for a Philhealth ID:
- Two accomplished copies of the PhilHealth Member Registration Form (PMRF);
- Two latest 1×1 ID pictures;
- At least two valid IDs or a photocopy of your PSA-issued Birth Certificate.
Valid ID # 23. SCHOOL ID
- What is a School ID? – The School Identification (ID) Number is a unique and permanent six-digit number provided to each educational institution in the Philippines that provides basic education.
- How to get a School ID? – In order for you to acquire a school ID, you must be enrolled in a certain school. A school ID is an official card that allows the holder to enter the school.
