Exciting news, Ka-Palawan! Last November 15, 2024, the Palawan Group of Companies Scholarship Program (PGC-SP) confirmed its BIGGEST batch of scholars yet—170 students from Palawan State University-Main Campus and Western Philippines University-Main and Puerto Princesa Campuses. Out of over 1,000 applicants, they were chosen to be part of the PGC-SP family. As of now, PGC proudly supports a total of 562 active scholars from these universities.
Alongside the Confirmation Program, we also hosted the first-ever PGC-SP Get-Together since the pandemic. It was a day filled with fun and bonding! There were exciting games, raffle draws, and prizes generously sponsored by our amazing PGC-SP alumni. All these to foster connections and collaborations among scholars of course, spread some holiday cheer!
The event was graced by Ma’am Angelita Castro, co-founder and Deputy CEO, and Ma’am Korina Castro-Fernando, HR Director. In her message, Ma’am Rema Dabalus, Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility Department, said:
"Ang scholarship program na ito ay hindi lang tungkol sa academic excellence. It’s about empowering individuals na may malasakit at pangarap para sa mas magandang kinabukasan. Kailangan ng bansa natin ng kabataang hindi lang matalino kundi may puso, may prinsipyo, at handang tumulong sa kapwa."
Isn’t it something to be proud of as a Ka-Palawan? To all our scholars, keep striving for your dreams. Together, let’s build a brighter future for everyone.
